Mitel Contact Center as a Service (CCaaS)

About Mitel

Mitel is a privately held Canadian communications company that sells unified communications, collaboration, and contact center software for cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments. Founded on June 8, 1973, and headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Mitel markets itself as a global UC provider serving more than 70 million users through a partner network the company puts at more than 6,000. The portfolio includes MiVoice and OpenScape business communications platforms, MiCollab and Unify Phone collaboration, Microsoft Teams and Zoom hybrid workplace options, Mitel CX contact center software, workforce optimization, workflow automation, IP phones, and critical communications products used in healthcare, government, hospitality, and other regulated settings. Mitel CX is the contact center platform. It handles voice, chat, email, SMS, social, and video, and adds AI virtual agents, recording, quality management, speech analytics, real-time dashboards, and workforce scheduling. Subscriptions are sold in CX Essential Digital, CX Essential Voice, CX Premier, and CX Elite profiles, with optional add-ons. List prices are not published on the vendor site. Mitel traded on Nasdaq as MITL and on the TSX as MNW until Searchlight Capital Partners completed a take-private in November 2018. After a Chapter 11 filing in March 2025, Mitel exited bankruptcy on June 20, 2025. Ownership moved from Searchlight to the company's lenders, and the company said it reduced debt by about $1.15 billion. Wikipedia lists 2025 revenue of CA$1.27 billion and about 4,200 employees. That revenue figure is in Canadian dollars and is not converted here. Mitel remains private, with no current public ticker.
