Sanas Speech AI Software

About Sanas

Sanas began at Stanford University in 2020. Shawn Zhang, Max Serebryakov, and Andres Perez Soderi started it after a classmate told them he had lost a contact center job because customers struggled with his accent. Sharath Keshava Narayana, who had co-founded Observe.AI, joined in 2021 as a co-founder.

The first product was real-time accent translation. An agent speaks normally and Sanas converts the audio so the accent matches what the caller expects, such as US English, while keeping the agent's own voice and emotion. It runs locally between the headset and the softphone or CCaaS client, which is why it works with hundreds of calling applications. Sanas holds a patent on the approach in the United States and India.

Adoption came mostly through BPOs and large enterprise service desks. The company counted 5,000 agents using it daily in 2023 and more than 30,000 in 2024, when it also launched free noise cancellation.

In February 2025 Sanas raised a $65 million Series B led by Quadrille Capital, with Insight Partners, Quiet Capital, DN Capital, Teleperformance, and Alorica. Teleperformance invested about $13 million and became an exclusive reseller to many of its largest clients. TechCrunch reported a valuation above $500 million and annual recurring revenue of $21 million at the time.

Since then Sanas has added real-time language translation, speech enhancement, speech intelligence, and an SDK for developers, and it now calls itself a speech layer for conversations between people and systems. It says more than 750,000 users had adopted the product by 2025.
