Haptik Call Center AI Software

About Haptik

Haptik is one of the older conversational AI companies in India. Aakrit Vaish and Swapan Rajdev started it in Mumbai in August 2013 as a chat-based personal assistant, then shifted to building chatbots for large consumer brands as messaging became the main way Indian customers contacted companies.

In April 2019 Reliance Jio acquired a stake of about 87 percent in Haptik in a deal reported at roughly $100 million. The company became Jio Haptik Technologies and has since built assistants for Jio businesses such as JioMart and Jio Fiber while continuing to sell to outside brands. Ahshad Jussawala now leads the company as chief executive, with Saumil Shah as chief technology officer.

The current product line centers on AI agents for customer experience. Haptik offers agents for support, sales, lead qualification, and bookings that run on web chat, apps, and WhatsApp, plus voice AI agents that it says support more than 100 languages. Smart Agent Chat gives human agents an AI copilot, Contakt rounds out the agent tooling, and an Insights Agent analyzes conversations.

Haptik also owns Interakt, a WhatsApp Business platform used by small and mid-sized sellers. In September 2025 it launched an AI for All offer through Interakt, priced from 10,000 rupees for 2,000 AI conversations, aimed at bringing AI agents to smaller Indian businesses.

The company says more than 500 enterprises use its platform. Named customers include JioMart, Jio Fiber, Swiggy, Zepto, Paytm, Sephora, PVR Cinemas, Hamleys, and Tata Mutual Fund.
