About Intercom

Intercom is the help-desk product line of Fin, the San Francisco company founded in 2011 by Eoghan McCabe, Des Traynor, Ciaran Lee, and David Barrett. The company rebranded from Intercom to Fin in May 2026; Intercom remains the name of the customer-service software and inbox. Support teams use Intercom for ticketing, Messenger, knowledge, and human-agent workflows, and attach Fin as an AI agent priced per resolved outcome. Official about copy states more than 1,400 employees across six offices and more than $400 million ARR for the company. On June 15, 2026 Salesforce announced a definitive agreement to buy Fin for approximately $3.6 billion; the deal had not closed as of August 19, 2026. HQ is listed at 55 2nd Street, San Francisco.

Lite seats are free. Copilot listed at $29–$35 per agent/month depending on page; Pro add-on from $99/month. Messaging channels (SMS, WhatsApp, phone, email campaigns) are usage-based. Fin Voice is custom/sales-quoted. 14-day trial; startups Early Stage program advertised.
